Ideal For: Design lovers, sleepers who run hot.
Our Review: Known for its ultra-luxury mattresses, you can get a nibble of Hästens' signature Check design with this elegant and slightly playful duvet cover which is part of Hästens' new line of bed linens. Woven from 100% extra-long staple cotton in a crispy percale weave, the duvet cover features a button closure that hides under a short flange. The reverse side features the check at a slightly smaller scale, reenforcing a story of contrasts.
Its 300-thread-count construction balances softness, pliability, and breathability. In our testing, it’s definitely tailored for warm sleepers or summer use. — From $640–$995 at Hästens.
Ideal For: Chronic travelers and pitch-dark room lovers.
Our Review: Despite the elaborate name and curious shape (akin to a super pillowy eye mask), the illo genuinely helped block light and muffle surrounding noise with a cushiony design that wraps around the head or neck. It uses a plush (fairly squeezable) core, breathable bamboo mesh, and a soft mulberry silk and Modal blend as the fabric. It comes with a remarkably compact travel bag for easy transport (no neck pillow hanging off of you in the airport). It’s available in three handsome shades of blue and violet. — from $39.99 at illo.
Ideal for: People who are not morning people. Device detoxers.
FSA/HSA Eligible: Yes.
Our Review: It’s a paradox: we’re told not to use cell phones in bed, but most people use one as an alarm. The Hatch Restore 3 makes a persuasive case for replacing that something more considered. This unique device comes in a colorway that complement the bedroom, while soothing soundscapes, a dimmable bedside light, and a simulated sunrise bring a little ceremony to falling asleep and waking up.
We fell in love with the gradual morning illumination, offering a gentler alternative to the usual jarring alarm (especially if you prefer pitch-dark rooms). Most controls are conveniently located on the device itself, allowing the phone to stay out of the bedroom once everything is configured. — From $169.99 at Hatch
Ideal for: Individuals with chronic headaches; those craving sensory relief.
FSA/HSA Eligible: Yes.
Our Review: While it’s called the Headache Hat, I’ve reached for the TheraICE hat at other times: restless nights with the desperate need for sleep, lazy afternoons where I just want to relax, in dizzying sinus congestion of flu season, and yes, even during a hangover.
The design is refreshingly free of unnecessary complications. The stretchable, gel-filled cap wraps around the head, delivering hot or cold therapy with gentle compression and complete coverage. Its dark material also blocks light, a welcome consideration for anyone dealing with headache-related sensitivity. One note: it can be quite cold coming directly from the freeze so give it a few minutes to warm up. — From $29.99 at TheraICE.
Ideal for: Scent lovers and scene setters.
Our Review: An appealing finishing touch to the evening routine, this pillow mist brings the familiar pleasures of Provençal fragrance into the bedroom. Lavender (well known for its restful properties), orange blossom, and mint create an aromatic combination that feels both soothing and refreshing, without relying exclusively on the usual heavy floral notes. We sprayed it onto pillows and around the room approximately fifteen minutes before bedtime. We loved leaving the room for a little while and returning to atmospheric indulgence. — From $28 at L'Occitane
